About The Hanel-Laube Families
My name is Mark Fischer and I started this Hanel-Laube family tree website in order to share all of the information that I've had in my possession for a dozen years or so. Another descendant of this Hanel-Laube line is Margaret Schreyer from the Mankato, Minnesota area. Many years ago another Hanel descendant gave me a 3" floppy disk that contained all of this information. I was told that Margaret Schreyer was the person who either researched, gathered together and/or collated this information. Hats off to you Margaret! I have had very little to do with the gathering of this information on the Hanel-Laube families of Southern Minnesota. My paternal grandmother (Clara Hanel Hanel Fischer) is my link to this fascinating and large relation. I have not yet upgraded this site
from it's 'free' status. . . but someday I hope to do so. I have another Tribal Pages website with my immediate family (Fischer) as well as my mother's side of the family (names such as Valliant, Rhodes, Roberts, Hollinger, etc). That site is 'The Adam Fischer Family'. I am working on that 'Fischer' site at this time (2016) as I did most of the original work on it years ago and the information was on a very old Family Tree Maker software on my computer. Last year I discovered that I could no longer access those files as Family Tree Maker had put out many newer versions of their software over the past dozen years and it apparently could no longer open my older version. Be that as it may, I had previously printed or saved files on almost all of that information so I will be able to add that info to the website. . . one piece at a time! No quick upload for me. I hope you find something of interest in these files. Mark A. Fischer (2016-01)

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
